Huambo Provincial Government Delivers Vehicles and Launches Citizen Data Update Initiative

The Governor of Huambo Province, Pereira Alfredo, presided over the official ceremony on Monday, June 15, to hand over vehicles to the Provincial Administration and the Provincial Registry Office.

During the same event, authorities officially launched the Adult Citizen Data Update Program, an initiative aimed at improving the quality of public services and streamlining government assistance, with particular attention to citizens aged 18 and older.

According to provincial officials, the program will strengthen the organization of citizen records and provide more efficient access to the various public services offered by the Provincial Registry Office.

Officials also presented the vehicles assigned to municipalities across the province. The vehicles are intended to support local administrative activities and bring public services closer to communities, improving efficiency in serving residents.

The vehicles display the slogan "Angola Calls on You" on their identification badges and official materials. According to organizers, the initiative is designed to encourage greater citizen participation in administrative processes while strengthening the relationship between public institutions and the population.

The vehicle distribution and the launch of the data update program are part of the Huambo Provincial Government's broader efforts to strengthen public administration and improve service delivery.

What Is the Automatic Voter Registration System (REO)?

The Automatic Voter Registration System (Registo Eleitoral Oficioso – REO) is Angola's electoral registration mechanism that automatically enrolls eligible citizens in the national voter database without requiring them to complete a separate, in-person voter registration process.

How It Works

When an Angolan citizen obtains or renews a National Identity Card (Bilhete de Identidade), their information is automatically added to the National Adult Citizens Database.

That database is later used to compile the country's voter registry.
